Peggy Raymond's Vacation

Wonderful decorative copy of this entry in the Peggy Raymond series. In 1890, Smith became Boston Public Schools first African-American teacher, where she taught until 1917 before turning to writing full time. Her publisher later recruited Smith to continue the Pollyanna series after Eleanor Porter's death. She wrote four more books for the series including Pollyanna and the Orange Blossoms and Pollyanna's Debt of Honor. Book is clean and crisp, a bit of fading to the gilt decoration. Dust jacket shows heavy wear and soil, tears, etc. Six illustrations by John Goss. 5.25"x8" with 324 pages. 4th Printing.
