Unusual psychological novel based in Victorian England, a well-to-do noblemen deals with the birth of his second child, who "carries the dwarf's blood in his veins." Purple cloth with unusual triangular foil paste-ons. Jacket edges are worn, rubbing and chipping present, some soil; book has tanned pages, light wear and soil. 5.5"x7.5" with 278 pages. Oliver was an well-known English writer, also noted for acting as hostess to a circle of well-known writers, artists, and composers in her native Wiltshire.
