Bruin the Brown Bear

Twin bear cubs learn the business of being a bear from their mother and older brother. Part of a series of vivid tales of animal life called Pere Castor’s Wild Animal Books Series authored by Lida, born Lida Durdikova-Faucher in Prague in 1899. This is the first English language edition, translated by Lily Duplaix. Some cover rubbing and wear along edges. Pages show some browning and soil, middle signature slightly loose. Wonderful illustrations by Feodor Rojankovsky, or "Rojan," who won the 1956 Caldecott Medal for U.S. picture book illustration from the American Library Association, recognizing "Frog Went A-Courtin'" by John Langstaff. 9"x10.5" with 32 pages.
