The First Christmas Tree

Van Dyke's classic folk story of the first Christmas Tree, a story told in dark detail of an eighth-century struggle between foresters who are clinging to the old gods and solstice festivals, and a heroic Christian who journeys far to teach them about the celebration of birth of Christ. 4.5 x 7.5 inches with 69 pages. Book is generally clean and tight, shows some discoloration or fading to front cover. Dust jacket is very worn and chipped with some larger tears.
