Adventures of Tom Sawyer

This unusual adaptation of Mark Twain's classic story is bound in reddish-brown cloth with gilt lettering and a gilt cover illustration of a riverboat. Stamps on front endpaper; wear; some soil; bright, unmarked, tight copy. Besides the unsusual adaptation, this edition is particularly notable for the black-and-white illustrations by Vaughn Bode of "Lord of the Rings" fame, which appear on almost every page, including color plates. Bode brings his distinctive and notably modern sensibility to this classic story. 65 pages; approx. 6"x9".
