Covers have some wear and soil, spine faded; bookplatte from private 19th-century library on front inner board; gift inscription on front endpaper; some foxing within. Frontispiece is a portrait of Carlyle. This history of the French Revolution is complete in these two volumes, each approx. 5"x7", 450 pages.
