Twelve Years a Slave: Narrative of Solomon Northup, a Citizen of New York, Kidnapped in Washington City in 1841, and Rescued in 1853, from a Cotton Plantation Near the Red River, in Louisiana. 29th Thousand. Gripping original narrative of Northup, a free man of New York who was kidnapped and sold into slavery. This narrative was the basis for the 2013 Oscar-winning film. Dedicated to Harriet Beecher Stowe. Later full leather binding that shows heavy wear to spine; only the top portion remains. Textblock is generally very clean, just the occasional spot of foxing. Front and rear hinges previously repaired. No illustrations are present. Leather boads shows wear, heaviest at bumped corners. 5"x7.5" with 336 pages.
