Anthony Wayne





This is portrait of Anthony Wayne, a United States Army officer and statesman. Wayne adopted a military career at the outset of the American Revolutionary War, where his military exploits and fiery personality quickly earned him promotion to brigadier general and the sobriquet Mad Anthony. He later served as the Senior Officer of the Army and led the Legion of the United States.  

The print comes from a disbound copy of "Romances of Early America" by Edward Robins. It was published by George W. Jacobs and Co., Philadelphia, 1902. The print measures 5.5 x 8 inches and is printed on thicker quality stock with an embossed border.  

Print has a rough edge where it was bound into the book, otherwise clean and crisp.
