The Holy Bible


This antique hardcover five-volume Bible with commentary is bound in brown full leather boards, with gilt-trimmed raised bands on each spine and gilt lettering red and black spine labels. Overall condition of this early 19th-century set is Fair. Covers have wear, edgewear and chipping, but all leather is present. Foxing throughout (more in some volumes than others). Some wear to the pages, water stains, spotting and soil. This edition was adapted from the second London edition, improved and enlarged for the American market. It includes copious commentary and notes by Scott. Each volume is approx. 500 pages, 9" x 11".
