This scarce Armed Services edition of Lovecraft's classic "Dunwich Horror" is complete and intact, with a white soft cover and black spine lettering. Front cover has a small inset illustration of a book, with explanatory note about the Armed Services editions. These books were published by the United States Armed Forces, cheaply printed and designed at 4.5" x 6.5" to fit in a service uniform pocket. Many copies were destroyed or left behind by soldiers stationed overseas. Copyright is listed as 1939, but book would have been printed between 1943 and 1947. Cover is worn and creased; inner pages are browned, with wear to top page corners. In addition to the title story, this book includes "In The Vault," "The Rats in the Walls," "Pickman's Model," "The Music of Erich Zann," "The Colour Out of Space," "The Outsider," "The Call of Cthulhu," "The Whisperer in Darkness," "The Shadow Over Innsmouth," "The Moon-Bog" and "The Hound." 384 pages in total.
