Colonel of the 7th

This original and vintage print measures 8 inches by 11.5 inches. Some creasing and wear, but overall the paper is clean and crisp, the colors vibrant. It's titled "Colonel of the 7th" and, according to Bard.edu resources, "appears to show Daniel Appleton, the Colonel of the 7th Regiment between 1889 and 1916. Appleton was the vice president of D. Appleton Publishers and, like so many members of the 7th, was a successful businessman before taking command. He is shown here in the full dress uniform of the 7th Regiment as it was very late in the nineteenth century. Although nearly seventy years after it was adopted, the regiment's well known uniform had changed very little."
