A Fool's Errand

Tourgee's famous fictional summation of the frustrations with Reconstruction; the book is a thinly veiled fiction of a Union colonel who runs into the KKK in North Carolina shortly after the Civil War. This antique hardcover book is bound in decorative brown cloth boards. The spine is lettered in gilt, with black decorations, and the cover features ornate black lettering framed around a jester's cap and scepter. This copy has wear at the edges of the boards, some soil, but the inner pages are clean and unmarked. 361 pages; approx. 5"x7".
