The Life and Letters of Washington Irving

This antique hardcover four-volume set is bound in blue-green pebbled cloth boards, with beveled etched borders on the front cover and gilt lettering and decoration on the spines. All volumes published between 1862-1864 (original editions). Some cover, edgewear; spine ends are worn at top; but inner pages are clean and bright, most bindings tight. Compiled by Washington Irving's nephew, Pierre, these volumes contain a detailed biography of the writer's life, supplemented by letters. Each has a frontispiece illustration; each is approx. 450 pages, 5"x8".
