Lectures on the History of Rome

"Lectures on the History of Rome: Volumes One and Two" by B.G. Niebuhr. Published by Taylor, Walton and Maberly, London, 1850. Binding is by Seton and Mackenzie. Volumes one and two of a three-volume set.

These antiquarian are bound in black and green marbled boards with 3/4 tan leather, trimmed in gilt. Gilt lettering appears on the dark brown and green leather spine labels, and the spines are stamped with gilt emblems between five raised bands. Slight edgewear to covers, but very clean overall. Bookplate on front endpaper. Vol. 1 features a frontispiece portrait of Niebuhr. Vol. 1 has 456 pages; vol. 2 has 408.
